Paper made from stone

Paper made from stone TerraSkin is a combination of Mineral Powder (75-80% Calcium Carbonate)and a small quantity of non-toxic resin (20-25% PE) which acts as a binder to create an environmentally friendly, tree-less paper. TerraSkin performs like a traditional paper on litho and flexo presses,but it has many unique advantages.The raw material comes from the post-industrial recycled marble and limestone,from the building industry. The production of TerraSkin requires no water, no bleach and 50% less energy than traditional paper.TerraSkin is not a fiber so it doesn’t absorb ink like regular paper – consequently 20-30% less ink is required for printing. It is also water resistant and tear resistant.

TerraSkin has 2 end of life options available, it is infinitely recyclable(with proper infrastructure or take-back programs) as well as degradable,when left out in nature for approximately three to nine months.

TerraSkin is very versatile and can be used in multiple paper and paperboard applications as well as thermoformed items.It can be embossed or hot-stamped and is also FDA approved for direct food contact.
